Loki Laufeyson

Loki Laufeyson by birth, Loki Odinson by adoption, is the fictional character based on the Marvel comics and Norse mythological god of the same name who is portrayed by Tom Hiddleston in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Loki, often titled the “god of mischief”,   is the adoptive son of Odin and Frigga and the adoptive brother of Thor and Hela, the Asgardian Royal family. Originally born a frost giant from Jotunheim, Loki was a baby left to die by his father until Odin, King of Asgard, found him and took him in as his own. Loki was raised without knowledge of his past, growing a close relationship with Thor but never feeling as though he was living up to his brother, the “god of thunder”. Through a series of unfortunate events including his realisation of his true origins and the death of his mother, Loki becomes vengeful and vindictive. This resentment leads to plots to rid Asgard of both Thor and Odin in attempts to rule Asgard. After his plans are foiled, attentions turn to conquering Earth creating the circumstances for the creation of the Avengers. Loki Laufeyson has generally been known as a villain in the MCU through his constant attempts at taking over either Earth or Asgard and having allied himself with other powerful villains in order to achieve these conquests. He is also quite well known for antagonising his brother Thor by partnering with him and then betraying him endlessly and regularly returning from apparent death. Despite these shortcomings, through his development in the MCU, Loki has become labelled less as a villain and more as an anti-hero.

Following his introduction in the first ‘Thor’ film, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has frequently appeared in multiple other Marvel projects including the first three ‘Thor’ films, ‘The Avengers’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘What if…’ and most recently starred in ‘Loki’ a series which orbits this fan-favourite character while simultaneously introducing variants of him.

Burdened With Glorious Purpose

‘Burdened with glorious purpose’ is a reoccurring phrase said by Loki Laufeyson throughout his various MCU appearances. This quote is repeated so often by Loki that it has become synonymous with his character. Inspired by his iconic colour palette and featuring a rendition of Loki’s iconic Chitauri scepter, this pin perfectly epitomises this character. There is no better way to make a Loki fan happy!

Black Widow

‘Black Widow’ is the long-awaited solo film for Marvel’s infamous Russian super spy character, Natasha Romanoff. This film fills in some timeline gaps for Natasha as it immediately follows ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and falls before ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Starring Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff the main cast also includes Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, Ray Winstone, O-T Fagbenle and Olga Kurylenko.

Set directly after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, Natasha finds herself on the run and completely alone for the first time in a long while… or so she thinks. Her past is catching up with her, secrets, scars and all. She is suddenly face to face with the red in her ledger. While still being pursued by government forces, Natasha Romanoff has to fix the broken relationships she left behind before becoming an Avenger and confront a dangerous conspiracy that ties her to her past.

Such A Poser

‘Such a Poser’ is one of the most iconic quotes to come from the Black Widow film. In the film, Yelena and Natasha are catching up after a fight. Yelena points out a mannerism that no one fully noticed was a reoccurring thing throughout the Marvel films featuring Black Widow. Natasha has an unconscious tendency to default to a very specific pose whether in the middle of combat or dropping from the ceiling ect… It becomes a running joke throughout the film, with Yelena at a point making the comment “Such a Poser”.
