Superman is one of the most famous fictional characters in pop culture, originally appearing in multiple DC comics that since then has been adapted for various media all over the globe including live action and animated films, many televisions series, quite a few toy lines and multiple video games.
Superman is the formidable alias of sensible, nerdy journalist Clark Kent. Superman was born on the alien planet Krypton and given the name Kal-El. As a baby, his parents place him in a small spaceship and send him to Earth in order to protect him from the planet’s imminent destruction. He is found and adopted by an American couple, Martha and Jonathan Kent, who give him the name Clark Kent and raise him on a farm in a town called Smallville. There he discovers that he holds various superhuman abilities including flight, superhuman strength, enhanced hearing, heat vision, super speed, being bulletproof and many more. The Kent Family decide that with these powers, Clark should use them for good, in a way that benefits humanity. He grows up and moves to a city named Metropolis where he gets a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet. He becomes a costumed, crime-fighting hero, known as Superman, with the intention of protecting the people of Metropolis from a variety of villains including Brainiac, Zod, Bizarro, Doomsday and his archenemy Lex Luthor. Can he manage to thwart these threats to Metropolis while keeping his real identity secret? Can this caped crusader stay the ultimate symbol of truth, justice and hope?

Loki Laufeyson by birth, Loki Odinson by adoption, is the fictional character based on the Marvel comics and Norse mythological god of the same name who is portrayed by Tom Hiddleston in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Loki, often titled the “god of mischief”, is the adoptive son of Odin and Frigga and the adoptive brother of Thor and Hela, the Asgardian Royal family. Originally born a frost giant from Jotunheim, Loki was a baby left to die by his father until Odin, King of Asgard, found him and took him in as his own. Loki was raised without knowledge of his past, growing a close relationship with Thor but never feeling as though he was living up to his brother, the “god of thunder”. Through a series of unfortunate events including his realisation of his true origins and the death of his mother, Loki becomes vengeful and vindictive. This resentment leads to plots to rid Asgard of both Thor and Odin in attempts to rule Asgard. After his plans are foiled, attentions turn to conquering Earth creating the circumstances for the creation of the Avengers. Loki Laufeyson has generally been known as a villain in the MCU through his constant attempts at taking over either Earth or Asgard and having allied himself with other powerful villains in order to achieve these conquests. He is also quite well known for antagonising his brother Thor by partnering with him and then betraying him endlessly and regularly returning from apparent death. Despite these shortcomings, through his development in the MCU, Loki has become labelled less as a villain and more as an anti-hero.
Following his introduction in the first ‘Thor’ film, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has frequently appeared in multiple other Marvel projects including the first three ‘Thor’ films, ‘The Avengers’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘What if…’ and most recently starred in ‘Loki’ a series which orbits this fan-favourite character while simultaneously introducing variants of him.
