Bucky Barnes

James Buchanan Barnes, more commonly referred to as Bucky Barnes, is the fictional character based on the Marvel comics and portrayed by Sebastian Stan in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers (Captain America) are childhood best friends who grew up together and found themselves fighting side by side in World War 2 until both, through a series of different events, found themselves in the living in the present day. While Steve was injected with super soldier serum making him the superhero and national treasure known as Captain America, Bucky was transformed into a brainwashed super soldier assassin controlled by Hydra, aka the Winter Soldier. In an effort to make amends, he aligns himself with the Avengers, becoming the ‘White Wolf’.

Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes (also referred to as the Winter Soldier or White Wolf) has appeared in several Marvel Cinematic Universe projects including all 3 Captain America films, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and most recently starred in the miniseries ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ also voicing an alternative version of James Buchanan Barnes in multiple episodes of the animated series ‘What If…’.

‘With you till the end of the line’ is an iconic reoccurring quote that embodies the friendship of Steve and Bucky. ‘You have failed this city’ is a reoccurring phrase used mainly by Oliver Queen throughout the entirety of the show. In his hooded archer persona, he uses it to confront evildoers and call them out for their actions and the results they’ve had in in the city.
