‘Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir’ (more commonly referred to as Miraculous or Miraculous Ladybug), is a French animated TV series that quickly gained popularity after being dubbed in English.
Set in modern-day Paris, the story follows two high schoolers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a shy, clumsy aspiring fashion designer and baker’s daughter, and Adrien Agreste, a professional model with a famous yet absent father. Each of them have been entrusted with a miraculous, Marinette with ladybug earrings and Adrien with a black cat ring. These ornaments are responsible for their powers and their respective transformations into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. These two heroes are tasked with protecting Paris from Hawk Moth, a villain with the ability, using small magical butterflies called akumas, to turn people facing negative emotions into super-villains themselves.
